Fall is my favorite time of year, and for sooo many reasons. All the leaves changing colors, pumpkins everywhere, cozy drinks by the fire, lots of laughs with loved ones, and… layers!
Specifically… comfy, cozy, athleisure layers.
And even more specifically- mom-friendly athleisure!
With an 9 month old and almost 3 year old on my hands, I’ll be honest that I usually end up defaulting to the stereotypical leggings + t-shirt look anyway. I mean, we just want to feel comfortable when running around like crazies most of the time, right?
But for those days where you’re wanting to feel a little more put together without giving up the comfort vibe, let me just tell you, you can still say YES to leggings!
So, here are 3 tips for all my mama friends to slay the athleisure trend this fall:
- Oversized sweaters/tops are your best friend. Seriously.. the chunkier or slouchier, the better! Super flattering over your favorite pair of leggings and paired with your favorite tennies.
- Think sports-inspired. A slouchy, boyfriend-fit blazer or coat can look incredibly fashion forward paired with your favorite tee, leggings and tennis shoes.
- Mix textures. Denim, faux fur, leather, velvet… all of these can be combined with your favorite sportswear pieces. For example, those leather motto leggings you’re dying to pull out every year can look incredibly fashion forward paired with a slouchy oversized tee and tennis shoes. The key is to choose ONE statement piece, and work around it.
